This Selection Of Visits Around Granada Can Provide Variety and Enjoyment

Depending Upon What You Like To Do

"You could become spoiled for choice... "

We have drawn up a selection of visits around Granada - in alphabetical order - just in case you are at a loss for what to do on your holiday. If you've come to a bed and breakfast in Granada and want to do something special then just read on...

Choice of Visits Granada and Beyond

  • Alhama de Granada. A beautiful spa town near Granada with its own thermal springs to help tempt you towards peak comfort and health.

  • Pool at Alhama de Granada

  • Almuñecar. A great Spanish resort with two bays, a tropical bird park, botanical palm garden and a thriving Friday market... one of our favourite visits from Granada.

  • Balneario Spa. Near Alhama de Granada the hot springs are an ideal place for relaxation. Here you can avail yourself of the many therapeutic treatments including jet and pressure showers, jacuzzi, mud baths and thermal pool. The Spa is open from April to November.

  • Bird Park. A tropical bird paradise in Almuñecar.

  • Lake Bermajales. Enjoy swimming in the clear fresh water of this huge reservoir near a bed and breakfast in Granada. And either have a packed lunch in the pine trees bordering the shore or visit one of the nearby restaurants. A short walk away look down onto the hydro electric station which converts the falling water into usable electricity. A beautiful place.

  • Loja del Rio. A small town, which has the river Genil running through it, and was strategically positioned to guard the nearby plain. Remnants of the Moorish stronghold can still be seen.

  • Los Infiernos de Loja. The nearby magnificent waterfalls just outside Loja warrant a trip to this beautiful village, and there is much more to see in the town as well when you make your Granada visits there.

  • Montefrío. A charmingly traditional town. It is famous throughout Spain because of the nearby wedge-like cliff which is topped by the Gothic church of La Villa.

  • Balcon de Europa in Nerja

  • Nerja and Nerja Caves. A really attractive town with its famous Balcon de Europa (so christened by King Alphonso before he died - of a cold). Nearby are the caves, which hold what is reputed to be the world's widest column, plus an amphitheatre which is used for ballets and concerts during summer. The caves are said to stretch all the way to Granada.

  • Priego de Cordoba. A really attractive town with castle, slaughter house and the house (now set out as a museum) of Niceto Alcalá-Zamora y Torres the first Prime Minister of the Second Spanish Republic, and later its President.

  • Riofrio. The home of trout fishing since the 17th century. Riofrío is popular for those who enjoy the countryside, fishing and eating trout - but not necessarily in that order. Set in beautiful surroundings there are more than ten restaurants to choose from where you can eat the fresh trout.

  • Santa Fé. On the outskirts of Granada here is where King Ferdinand and Queen Isabel set up camp in 1483 as they began their seige of Granada. It is also where Frederico Garcia Lorca grew up.

  • Skiing Sierra Nevada

  • Ski Resort. In Winter this is Spain´s top location for winter sports when making a Granada visit. In Summer you can enjoy the hill walking routes, the many species of birds and the fresh clean air.

With so many available visits around Granada you must surely be spoiled for choice...
...Enjoy!
