Here are some of our suggested trips around Granada - in alphabetical order...

  • Alhambra Palace. This is the famous palace and fortress complex of the Moorish monarchs of Granada, the most visited monument in Spain. As it is so popular it is advisable to book your tickets in advance. Actually, the Alhambra is more than "just" a palace. It's also a fortress with a set of triple walls and towers. And inside The fortress you will find a walkable complex of buildings - including the Nasrid Palace - and beautiful gardens enhanced by fountains and running water. This is perhaps the most popular reason for trips into Granada.

  • Alpujarras. This famous mountain area has stunning views and villages to visit, including Lanjaron, the Health "Spa Town" ideal for some trips from Granada where many people go to "take the waters". The Alpujarras are where Chris Stewart of Driving Over Lemons lives, and where you can buy the famous legs of ham (jamons) from Trevelez, the highest municipality of Spain.

visits less than 15 mintes from Los Limoneros,
visits less than 1 hour from our bed and breakfast,
trips of 90 minutes and up to 2 and a half hours from Padul,

  • Cumbres Verde. A beautiful pine clad area. One of the popular trips from Granada. Walk and breathe the fresh pine laden air and enjoy the wonderful views all around

  • Granada Golf Course Las Gabias. This is a top rate club for first rate golf. Enjoy 18 holes in beautiful surroundings with a pitch and putt, Gymnasium, Spa, Driving range and Restaurant.

  • Granada Water Park. Water fun with stunning views over Granada city. Enjoy the wave pool, a great mixture of slides, blackholes, the pool of Venus, chutes and a host of different things to do. And when you have finished all that, you can have a lovely meal at the open air restaurant/ cafeteria.

  • Alahmabra arches

  • Granada the historical city. Our most favourite city with plenty to see, buy and enjoy. Sit in one of the many plazas (squares) and watch the world go by, visit the cathedral, the miradors and the many monuments, take the open top tour bus around the city, or just spend, spend, spend in the many independent shops.

  • Granada Ten Pin Bowling. Enjoy a game of 10 pin bowling, or just sit in and watch.

  • Horse Riding. No matter what your level of skill you can enjoy horse riding at either of the two nearby stables.

  • Quad Biking. Enjoy quad riding in safety, with thrills and great views.

  • Motril Beach. A quiet and fairly secluded beach to enjoy. Sit and sun, wade or swim, or call into one of the nearby cafés or restaurants. Nearby you can visit the port and watch the boats dock and unload the freshly caught fish.

  • Motril golf Course. Playing golf! What an excellent way to enjoy great views and glorious weather. This is one of the more popular golf courses for guests at our bed and breakfast Granada accommodation.

  • Motril Sugar Museum. Follow the growth and process of sugar making from sugar cane in this re-created sugar factory. The museum is actually built on the site of the old sugar mill. The english speaking guide will lead you through the process - as it was - of felling forests to get wood to boil up the sugar cane, through to the end result of having a block of sugar. Sugar cane is still being grown and harvested on the coast around the museum. See it as it happens.

  • Motril Zinc Mine Museum. Newly opened museum built on the actual site of a disused zinc mine.

  • Olive Oil Museum. Watch the process of making olive oil and then taste the different varieties on offer. Very interesting - and tasty.

  • Sacromonte view towards Granada

  • Sacromonte near Granada. The birthplace of flamenco and where many cavehouses are still inhabited. Catch a bus to take a trip from Granada to the Sacromonte area and enjoy the walk back, stopping at one (or more) of the many cafés and bars you will pass along the way.

  • Salobreña. The Moorish castle sitting atop the rock on which the old town of Salobreña is built always reminds me of a "fairy castle". It is beautiful, especially when floodlit at night. And then, after visiting the castle and its museum, leave the village and head down to Salobreña beach for some Mediterranean sea and air.

  • Science Park. The "have-fun" place for children of all ages - including adult. You can easily spend a whole day here and still have fun. Click the link for more information. Many who take Granada trips will come here.

  • Theatres. Enjoy a variety of shows and performances in a host of theatres in Granada - all at reasonable cost.

  • Water sports. There is a good choice of water sports and diving activities on the Costa Tropical.

Where to go? Well, it's just where the fancy takes you...
Take as many or as few trips around Granada as you want. Or just stay in around the pool at Los Limoneros and chill out - the choice is yours.
