Enjoy Any One Of These Trips Around Andalucia
There's Lots Of variety To Choose From
It's not surprising that there's a big choice of trips in Andalucia. And many within a short distance of Padul. In fact the choices and possiblities are virtually endless.
Andalucía (Andalusia), is the most populated and second largest region of Spain. Travel in any direction from our bed and breakfast Granada and you will find a great variety of places, landscapes, villages and things to do. Go to Granada to Mulhacén, the highest mountain in Spain at 3,481 metres above sea level and then, in just half an hour, you could be down at sea level on the Costa Tropical.

The choice of where to go is yours... However, here is our pick of the trips in Andalucia that we think you might enjoy taking....
Under One and a half hours from Los Limoneros Bed and Breakfast
- Boat charter. Charter a boat for a sail around the Mediterranean sea, or sail to a special secluded cove and a well served restaurant. Whatever you want - it is here for the choosing. Perhaps a boat charter could make your visit Granada really special.
- Frigiliana. Not just another "white village". Frigialana, was voted the prettiest village in Andalucia by the Spanish tourism authority and is one of the popular visits Andalucia. It has a maze of cobbled streets in the old barrio (area) and many of them have beautiful views down and towards the coast. Visit the old sugar cane factory (now a ceramics shop) and don't forget the ruined fort at the top of the hill. The village is not really suitable for driving around, though, so go prepared to walk.
- Guadix. Even though Guadix is mostly famous for its cave houses in its Barrio Troglodyte, the cathedral built on the original site of a mosque and the ruined Moorish castle are also worth visiting.

- La Herradura. This sheltered bay (La Herradura means The Horseshoe) is great for water sports, relaxing and walking.
- Marina del Este. An attractive yacht harbour with shops, restaurants and good views.
- Priego de Cordoba. This town is set on an escarpment overlooking large groves of olives. There are lots of things to see here.. a ruined castle, a slaughter house near the old market site, the Fountain of the kings, museums, churches and plenty of restaurants. Certainly well worth a visit.
Less Than Two And A Half Hours From Our Guest House
Go a little further afield and there are still many interesting trips around Andalucia. A lot of people enjoy driving in this part of Spain because the roads are so clear of traffic with minimal hold-ups, so, jump into the car and zoom off to.... - Cordoba. Lots of Roman remains and the great Mosque (Mezquita), built when Cordoba was the capital of the Moorish kingdom - and when the Christians reconquered the city in the 13th century they built their cathedral in the centre of the mosque. In Maytime, Cordoba has its own "most beautiful courtyard" contest when patios and courtyards are festooned with flowers.

- Jaén. The impressive cathedral and the Moorish castle (now a parador) are certainly worth a trip in Andalucia. And while you are there, don't forget the many entrancing churches and museums in this city surrounded by olive groves.
- Ronda. Ronda sits on top of the El Tajo canyon, which has been carved out by the Rio Guadalquivir. The gorge is spanned by three bridges, the tallest being 210 metres high. It is worth vising simply for the views, but in Ronda you can also visit the oldest bull-ring in Spain which is still in use, and the old arab baths. Look closely and you will also find archives from Orson Welles and Ernest Hemingway, both of whom stayed there.
