Free tapas in Padul for breakfast, lunch or your evening meal

The thought of going for a tapas in Padul always cheers me up.

I always get a pleasurable sensation (maybe it is the Yorkshire man in me) whenever I think about getting something for nothing - especially when it is so delicious. And in Padul the tapas is fresh, varied and abundant.

From our bed and breakfast accommodation just head along the road into Padul and when you reach the village turn left to Cafeteria Elizabet's. This is always good place to start. And, surprise, surprise, their tapas is delicious

When you have had your fill there, come out the door of Elizabet's, turn right and head on down the Avenida d'Andalucia. You will come to a whole range of different bars in succession, on both sides of the road, all of whom give excellent tapas whenever you get a drink..

In Padul if you buy a drink that is..

Alcoholic - wine, beer or spirits
A non alcolholic version of something that is normally alcoholic, for instance non-alcoholic beer
A soft drink such as Fanta and Coca Cola, or
Water - still or fizzy

you will be given a free tapas from Padul.

Unfortunately, coffee, tea and hot chocolate does not qualify. Which is a shame as, personally, I would enjoy a free snack when I have one of my favourite Cola Cao drinks.

The one thing that is fundamental to the Spanish attitude towards alcohol is that Spaniards will nearly always eat something whenever they have a drink. Conversely, they will seldom have an alcoholic drink unless there is something to eat with it. (this is one reason that drunkeness and binge drinking just doesn't happen here). Long live Padul tapa.
