They have such a wide choice of foods, drinks, clothes, tools, white goods and electronic equipment on offer, often at very favourable prices. But if you are looking for value, surprisingly you will find that some items can be bought in a village shop for less, and so it can pay to shop around. However, village shops tend not to have as wide a range of goods. For instance, even in Padul, many of the butchers (carnicerías) sell delicious pork and chicken, but no beef.
