Go Skiing In The Sierra Nevada - It´s a Top Location For Winter Sports

Anyone skiing in the Sierra Nevada Snowy Mountain Range is in for a real treat.

As Spain´s top location for winter sports it has the best snow and the longest season in the country for skiing in the Sierra Nevada Mountains. This means that there´s a host of mountain activities for all levels of skill and for all the family.

The skiing in Granada season normally lasts November to April although the area is also very popular with birdwatchers, hikers and climbers throughout the year.

After the Alps, the Sierra Nevadas in Andalusia are the second highest mountain range in Europe. Solynieve (sun and snow) is the southernmost ski resort in Spain. Even when skiing in the Sierra Nevada in winter there are lots of sunny days and it is not at all unusual to be skiing in warm temperatures with beautiful blue skies above.

Solynieve (spelled Sol y Nieve by many visitors) is just 30 minutes from the centre of Granada City, one hour from Granada airport, and less than and hour and a half from the Costa del Sol and the Alpujarras.
