These online spanish exercises give you the exact information most people are looking for

Using online spanish exercises to improve your Spanish is a great idea.

Some people use them to learn Spanish in the first place. And why not? You get a really liberating feeling understanding Spanish when no-one speaks English and you want to speak with them.

But one question that comes to my mind is this - just WHY should anyone want to learn to speak Spanish in the first place?

My reason was fairly easy to work out. I wanted to learn to speak Spanish so that I could integrate with the Spanish community here where we live near Granada. But I must admit, that even when Babs and I had finally decided on moving down here to Andalucia, we still kept putting off learning the language. And it wasn't until we were actually driving towards Granada from the ferry that learning the language became a serious matter.

With online Spanish exercises you'll be able to enjoy
a good Spanish conversation yourself

Typical reasons for learning a foreign language like Spanish, are:-
  • Social benefits. Making new friends, developing new relationships, dealing with the day to day requirements of living or holidaying in a foreign country
  • Financial benefits. Speaking a foreign language can lead to promotion at work. Servicing the needs of "foreign" customers. Increasing sales and opening up new opportunities for business
  • Enriching life's experiences. People who have taken the trouble to learn the language tend to be welcomed by the locals. Using your pre-learned phrases and words will open doors for you that would otherwise remained closed.

Actually if you choose to use learn Spanish online, you could well be spoiled for choice. When I "Googled" the phrase I was offered a selection of around 3,460,000 websites on online spanish exercises.

But, actually you don't need to sift through millions of sites because there are just three that I would like to offer for your inspection and trial.

Online Spanish Exercises from the BBC in Britain

The BBC has a wealth of information on their website and, depending upon your level of Spanish you might want to sign up for a free 12 weekly email course. This link is for the post beginner's course. Subscribe to it and follow the lessons. At the end (subject to your satisfactory "end of course" assessment) you will be given a BBC Certificate.

Another option is to work through the on-line story videos in Mi Vida Loca (My crazy life).

The site is filled with tips, exercises and games to help you with the online spanish exercises. This link will take you to the BBC Spanish home page

Online Spanish Exercises from Study Spanish

One of the most important aspects of learning Spanish is to understand how to pronounce the letters of the alphabet. With very few exceptions they are always pronounced in exactly the same way. This means that it is easy to build up the correct pronunciation of a word simply by pronouncing the individual letters and then piecing them all together.

To see how this happens go to the alphabet pronunciation.

Another very important aspect of speaking understandable Spanish is to get the tenses of the verbs correct. When we first arrived in Spain my Spanish language consisted of using the present tense. Period!

For example I would say:-

" I go to Granada yesterday." when I would have preferred to say "I went to Granada yesterday."
I would say "I go to Granada now." when I really wanted to say "I am going to go to Granada now."
And I would say "I go to Granada tomorrow." when I should have said "I will be going to Granada tomorrow."

With online Spanish exercises, these aspects of Spanish verbs can be practiced easily on exercises for verbs. And so, at least once a week I would log onto the exercises for verbs page and just spend a few minutes reminding myself of the correct verb conjugations. And then, once I thought I had committed them to memory, I would create a test (on the same webpage) and then just see how well I could remember the correct words.

On this same website you can also find Free Spanish Tutorials, Grammar exercises, a Travel Helper and a Free Spanish Translator.

Online Spanish Exercises from Rocket Spanish

I believe that most people can learn to write and to speak good Spanish from online spanish exercises. The problem is that, in order to learn to speak Spanish properly from online sites, we really need to have a good understanding of the language in the first place, otherwise it can all just become a hit and miss affair.

For anyone who wants to learn to speak Spanish easily and effectively with minimum effort, I can recommend the Rocket Spanish course.

Rocket are again offering a free 6 Day Rocket Spanish mini-course to give you free important audio tracks, grammar and culture lessons. It's well worth signing up for, even if all you want is the free information that the course will provide you with.

Try it. It's free and without obligation. And then you can carry on with your free online Spanish exercises, but this time with the knowledge of what a professionally organised course will give you.
