Whatever You Like To See - We've Got It All Near Granada
There are so many good things to see near Granada. And so to help you make your choice we've compiled a "top" list for you to consider when you are planning what to do when you are here.
We've lived near Granada for over eight years and over and over we find ourselves drawn to visit our old favourite places as well as looking out for what is new to us. We are, quite literally, spoilt for choice here. The interesting thing is that you can travel in any direction of the compass from Granada and you will find different terrains, contrasting vistas and a whole variety of interesting places, villages, and things to see and do.
And whether you are looking for some peaceful R&R (Rest and Relaxation), or whether you want to visit and see as much as possible whilst you are here, we are sure they will be pleased at what is on offer in the region of Granada.

Less than 20 minutes drive from Granada
Sit or walk by the beautiful reservoirs of Bezna or lake Bermajales. Or visit the many white villages in the valley of Lecrin (Valley of Happiness) - each with its own different character.
Under 30 minutes drive
Go to the Alpujarras and visit the health spa town of Lanjaron. Travel down the ancient mountain road of Carretera to Cabra which leads down to Almuñecar on the coast. Drive over to the beautiful pine clad region of the Cumbres Verde - very popular for anyone wanting trips from Granada. Enjoy some local history in the sugar museum in Motril or the olive oil museum on the old road towards Motril. Or maybe you would prefer something a little more active like a quad ride, some water sports, a splash in the water park near Granada or even a session or two of ten pin bowling? It's all here and more.
Under one hour
Where would you like to go.... to the luxuriating hot springs, the largest underground caves in Europe, skiing or maybe you would like to charter a boat for a few hours...
Under One hour and a half
Pop over to Guadix near Granada, the town famous for its multitude of cavehouses and its cathedral. Or go to Priego de Cordoba which sits on its escarpment overlooking the rolling olive groves. Or maybe you would prefer La Herradura with its water sports and beautiful nearby marina.
Less than two and a half hours
Cordoba with its catholic church set inside a mosque and Jaén with its many churches, cathedral, museums and rolling olive groves are just two of the many places we've highlighted for you.
No matter where you want to go or what you want to see near Granada there is plenty of choice.
