I imagined us all cantering along the Sierra Nevada mountain range. We would go up and down the ancient bridlepaths and tracks where the burros and horses haven't yet been superseded by tractors. The idea was very appealing. But the sad truth is that we don't have enough time to fit it into the holiday. However, since we often get asked by our bed and breakfast clients about where they can go horse riding around Granada, this week I decided to call in to see Fernando at the riding equestrian centre between Dilar and the Sierra Nevada National Park area. I wanted some up-to-date information about his Los Alayos Equestrian School.
You can have lots of fun horse riding in Granada
Fortunately (or unfortunately), the horse will know how competent a rider you are as soon as you get into its saddle. And, because horses are "people" some will do all they can to try to help you feel comfortable, and some may try to take advantage of you. Of course, this is why you are riding with a good equestrian centre, to make sure you are safe and that you have a good time! And, final words from Fernando:- "Don't be nervous. Just keep hold of the reins and stay in control, and you will have a really enjoyable time." Practicing jumps at the Los Alayos Equestrian Centre
