Enjoy Playing Golf In GranadaCheck Out These Courses FirstAt the moment, there are over 70 golf courses in Andalucia - and the number is rising steadily with over 30 more currently in the planning stage. Little surprise that the coastline including the Costa del Sol and Costa Tropical is also known as the Costa del Golf. And yet another golf course, Santa Clara golf in Granada, has only recently opened its doors, thereby increasing the number of golf courses in Granada. However, those who stay in Padul at our bed breakfast Granada accommodation are well situated to play golf in these two beautiful courses:- Las Gabias Golf Club in GranadaOne of our local golf courses is Las Gabias Club de Golf Granada . Less than 20 minutes away, this golf club is virtually on our doorstep.
The course is virtually flat and the 15th, 16th and 17th holes have lake hazards placed in front of them. This helps to give the game an interesting slant when you play golf there. Facilities at this Granada golf club are similar to other good golf courses and include a driving range, chipping area and putting green. There is also a shop with golf carts and clubs for hire. 
In the club house there are lockers, showers and, of course, a well stocked bar. The course is 18 holes par 71. The green fee to play golf for one day (18 holes) is currently 53 € per person and for half a day (9 holes) it is 30 €. These prices apply Mondays to Fridays, weekend charges are extra. Opening times from the 1st April until end of October are 08.00 to 21.00 hours. Half day entrance starts at 17.00 hours. Las Gabias Golf Club is also open during winter months. Santa Clara Golf ClubThis club recently opened in 2007 and the quality of play is excellent. It is about 15 minutes from Padul...The golf course at Santa Clara is set in a residencial complex in a 290-acre private estate. It is in a wonderful position, being on the foothills of the Sierra Nevada mountain range. The panoramic views of the Sierras give an excelent reason for golfing at Santa Clara. The 18 hole course is designed by Enrique Canales Bousquet and is a pleasure to play, as, overall, it is not too difficult - except when you come to the cleverly designed lakes.... The course spans 6757 metres and is a par 72 for men and 5560 metres and par 73 for ladies. Amenities for the golf course include a Club House, restaurant, lounge, heated indoor and outdoor swimming pools, jacuzzi, saunas, gym, paddle tennis court, driving range, golf academy, Pro shop, golf clunb hire and putting and pitching greens.
The rate for weekdays, which includes the 18 green fee is €40. The rate for weekends is €50 Directions: Drive along the autovia de Sierra Nevada between Padul and Granada and take exit 139 signposted to Otura and La Malaha. Follow the signs to Otura and Dilar and after that the signs to Santa Clara golf.
