The first Gastronomy Exhibition in Granada starts Wednesday 17th November 2010!
Officially titled "Gastrotur", this exciting exhibition is designed for those who are involved in tourism. But of the four days this show is open, the general public are invited to attend at the weekend.
There will be plenty of things to see (and to taste!) as well as lectures to hear, demonstrations to watch, seminars to talk about and competitions to take part in - and hopefully win!

Gastronomy Exhibition of Granada
There will be:-
- More than a hundred of the best virgin olive oils to taste,
- The best samples of whiskey and wines to savour,
- Top chefs to learn from,
- The latest thinking about the health benefits of olive oil and the Mediterranean diet, and
- Because this is the first exhibition in Granada, all the stops are being pulled out to make an extra special event.
This is What You Get
Enjoy taste testing olive oils, fresh spring mineral water, wine and whiskey. And checking out the flavours of a variety of wines. You will also be invited to choose which varieties of ham will taste best with which wines. Delicious!
Of course, when it all comes down to it, a lot of taste testing is just that - your preference of taste. And so prepare to enjoy yourselves while you get your taste buds sizzling!
In the olive oil section, there will be samplings of over one hundred of the best extra virgin olive oils. And although the show is concerned with foods of all kinds, special emphasis is being made concerning the health giving benefits of olive oil - particularly virgin olive oil from Granada and the aspects of nutrigenomics oil used in the Mediterranean diet. The emphasis is on all of the above, together with information about the latest research on the effects of olive oil on aging, diabetes, and breast cancer.
And for those who want to know "where it is at" there will be Master Classes by well respected chefs, one of whom is from the famously popular Ruta del Veleta Restaurant.
Details of the Exhibition
Apparently, the city of Granada has been selected to host this important and interesting Feria because it is one of the major tourist destinations in Spain. And I can well understand why that is so.
The Gastronomy Exhibition of Granada is open from 10.00am until 10.00pm from Wednesday 17th to Saturday 20th November at the Feria de Muestras de Armilla in Granada city.
Members of the public are able to visit at the weekend
