photo credit Almeda These booklets will be available upon request. Many people will want to keep each title as it becomes available to make up their own individual Free Book of Short Stories. And it's quite alright to do this. If you want to take a book home with you, just ask the bus driver and he or she will give you one to keep. Actually, these "books" are not fully fledged books at all. They don't have hard covers and spines. In fact they are more like booklets. But that's good, because the way they are made, they are easier to slip into your pocket or handbag. This annual free books on the bus programme actually started in 2002. And each year since then it has proved highly popular. The book(lets) are being made available by the City of Granada and the Andalusian Regional Ministry of Culture. They want to make good literature available to as many people as possible. What a great idea. If you manage to get to Granada this year, why not catch yourself some free "books" on the bus.
