Come to the Granada Jazz Festival 2007 - You'll be in very good company

There are over fifty separate concerts planned for the Granada Jazz Festival 2007 which runs from Saturday 3rd to Sunday 18th November.

Past performers at this International festival include the
Afro-Cuban All Stars, Keith Barron and Herbie Hancock,
all of which makes this one not to be missed.


This year's Festival will begin on the 3rd November with performance of the Granada Big Band and the City Orchestra of Granada, accompanied by Jonathan Waleson.

On the Sunday 4th the famous Vienna Art Orchestra "Big Band" for orchestral music, will be performing in the Theatre Isabel La Católica, in the centre of Granada.

Friday 9th of November: Medeski, Martin and Wood feature in the Granada Jazz Festival 2007.

November 10th sees the double bass player Ron Carter (used to be member of the Miles Davis quintet) accompanied by the Ron Carter Foursight.

On Sunday November 11th the Dominican pianist Michel Camilo, considered one of the best pianists will be playing along with bassist Charles Flores and drummer Dafnis Prieto.

Friday 16th November: Richard Galliano and the Gary Burton Quartet.

Saturday 17th of November: Oregon


Chrucho Valdes - one of Cuba's greatest


The conductor, pianist, composer and arranger Chucho Valdes (shown above), the winner of five grammy awards, will close the Festival on the 18th. He is reputed to be one of Cuba's greatest jazz pianists.

There will also be an exciting programme of side events throughout November, with initiatives such as Jazz at the Conservatory and Jazz in the Street.
