When I first came across EFT from Granada (Emotional Freedom Technique), as a therapist it seemed to deny all logic.
After all, how could something as simple as tapping on a person's "energy points" bring relief to such a wide variety of emotional and physical issues? But, the fact remains, it does produce excellent results.
And, of course once you know how to apply the technique, you can benefit from EFT in Granada or in any other place in the world. Geography makes no difference to its success. It really is a remarkable procedure.
In one sense, it doesn't really matter why it works because it is the getting of results that is important.
But there are some of us who do want to have an explanation.
As an example, a client of mine (I'll call her Mary) had a fear of heights, and if she thought about walking out onto a slim swinging suspension bridge and looking down at the countryside far below her, she immediately got that butterfly feeling of panic in the pit of her stomach that many of us only know too well.
In her brain - in the millisecond between her thinking about going onto the bridge and her getting a feeling of panic - there was a flow of disrupted energy which caused her negative emotion (the fear). As I used EFT tapping with her, Mary's disruptive energy flow was smoothed out and her resulting negative emotion (the fear) disppeared.
Before applying Emotional Freedom Technique, Mary thought of the high bridge and felt fear.
After Emotional Freedom Technique, Mary can think of the high bridge but now that fear-feeling has gone - she'll just think of the wonderful view she can see.
